TORONTO, ON - Police say a speeding vehicle crashed into Lake Ontario early Saturday, leaving one man dead, and another injured.
According to CTV News, the vehicle was heading southbound on Cherry Street when the driver lost control approaching the bridge, causing it to veer off the side of the roadway and into the lake.
Despite both occupants escaping, one man remained missing and was later found dead near the scene of the crash. The surviving passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.
The submerged vehicle has yet to be recovered. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the deceased, urging witnesses with any additional information to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.
