TORONTO, ON – Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to the scene of a crash early Monday, February 19, on Highway 401 in Toronto's Scarborough district, according to OPP GTA Traffic.
The accident happened on the westbound express lanes at Brimley Road, near the Agincourt South-Malvern West neighborhood. It was first reported by OPP GTA Traffic at 5:38 a.m., some time after officers had already arrived on the scene.
Officials did not immediately provide details about the cause or nature of the wreck, but part of the westbound highway was shut down during the emergency response and evaluation.
The number of vehicles involved and the conditions of those involved have not been made public.
