MISSISSAUGA, ON - One person was rushed to a trauma centre Friday morning after being hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Mississauga's Port Credit area, reports Global News.
Emergency crews responded to the scene near Mississauga Road and Indian Road at about 8:26 a.m.
The events leading up to the incident remain unclear at this time, but Peel Regional Police said the striking vehicle and the driver stopped and stayed at the scene.
The cyclist, who suffered life-threatening injuries, was transported to an area trauma centre.
Officials had a section of Mississauga Road blocked between Indian and Kane roads for the response and investigation. Motorists were asked to find alternate routes.
No pending charges and further details have been reported as of this writing.
