TORONTO, ON - An elderly man is facing a number of charges after he allegedly hit three people with his vehicle in northeast Toronto on Wednesday afternoon, leaving one person dead.
According to a report by the Toronto Star, the victims were hit at about 12:40 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex located near the intersection of Victoria Park Avenue and Cassandra Boulevard.
Police say the driver, an unidentified 79-year-old man, "intentially struck" three pedestrians in the parking lot. He is bleived to have a familial relationship with each victim.
All three pedestrians were rushed to an area hosptial, where one of them, a 61-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries.
The driver was taken into custody at the scene. He has been charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
