TORONTO, ON - A 27-year-old local resident has died following a motorcycle collision Wednesday morning on Highway 401 in Toronto’s Scarborough district, according to OPP Highway Safety Division.
The fatal accident happened at the westbound collector ramp to Port Union Road, near the West Rouge area, and was first reported at 8:16 a.m.
Officials have not disclosed whether another vehicle was involved, but the westbound collector lanes were shut down at Whites Road following the wreck. Motorists were warned of delays.
By 9:53 a.m., more than 1.5 hours later, Ontario Provincial Police confirmed that the motorcyclist had died from their injuries.
