TORONTO, ON - Ontario's police watchdog is investigating a crash between an unmarked police vehicle and an e-bike that sent one person to the hospital early Thursday in Toronto.
The Special Investigations Unit said the collision happened around 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of Queen Street and Niagara Street.
Toronto police reported the crash, which involved injuries described by paramedics as non-life threatening. One adult was transported to the hospital.
Few other details were immediately available. The SIU investigates incidents involving police in which someone was seriously injured, allegations of sexual assault or the discharge of a firearm.
The civilian agency has not released any information about the circumstances leading up to the crash. It has also not identified the people involved.
