CALEDON, ON – A 24-year-old Brampton resident has been charged after driving away from the scene of a crash Sunday afternoon, January 14, in Caledon, according to Global News.
Ontario Provincial Police said the incident took place near the corner of Healey Road and Coleraine Drive, in the Bolton area. Officers responded to the scene at around 12:00 p.m.
While details remain limited, investigators said they have reason to believe that 24-year-old Melina Raggiunti was impaired by alcohol when she was involved in a collision and fled the scene.
Raggiunti faces charges of "operation while impaired" and "failing to remain at the scene of a collision." She has since been arrested and is expected to appear in court next month. In addition to having her licence suspended for 90 days, her vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
No major injuries have been reported following the crash.
