TORONTO, ON – Toronto police are searching for a man who fled a traffic stop and a subsequent crash early Tuesday in Toronto's East York district that left a female occupant with minor injuries, according to
Global News.
The single-vehicle wreck occurred on the northbound Don Valley Parkway approaching Don Mills Road at about 3:19 a.m.
An early investigation indicates officers tried to pull over a Dodge Ram with New York licence plates, but its driver reportedly refused to comply. Shortly after exiting the highway, the pickup collided with a guardrail.
Authorities said two people, a man and a woman, got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. While the woman was apprehended and arrested, a search for the male suspect remains underway.
The woman was said to have suffered minor injuries, but it's unclear whether she had to be taken to a hospital.
At the time of Global News' report at 7:33 a.m., the DVP was open to traffic, but crews were still on the southbound exit ramp to Don Mills Road.
