VAUGHAN, ON – A 27-year-old Oshawa woman has been charged with impaired driving after her vehicle collided head-on with a snowplow Thursday afternoon in Vaughan, according to Global News.
York Regional Police said the incident unfolded in the area of Vellore Woods Boulevard and Major Mackenzie Drive West shortly before 2:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows the woman was driving a vehicle in the wrong direction when it struck a snowplow.
The woman was arrested and charged after breath samples showed her blood alcohol content to exceed 80 milligrams. Responding officers also recovered an open alcoholic container from her vehicle.
Authorities said the woman's vehicle was impounded for seven days, and that her driver's license faces a 90-day suspension.
