TORONTO, ON – One person suffered serious injuries as a result of a pedestrian collision Wednesday afternoon on Sixteenth Street in west Toronto's Etobicoke area, according to
CTV News.
The incident unfolded at the T intersection with New Toronto Street. Dispatchers were alerted some time after 3:20 p.m.
Preliminary reports indicate a vehicle was speeding, and that the pedestrian might have been trying to get it to slow down, when the victim was hit by the vehicle. As of this writing, local police have not confirmed those reports.
First responders rushed the victim to a local hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with officials.
