TORONTO, ON - A wrong-way crash involving three vehicles near Whitby last Monday claimed the lives of two drivers, and sent two other individuals to the hospital.
According to a report from City News, the incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. as a blue SUV heading south in the northbound lanes of Highway 418 and slammed head-on into a northbound SUV near the exit to Taunton Road. A blue SUV also heading north then slammed into the crash site.
Both drivers involved in the initial crash, ages 41 and 36, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The two occupants of the blue SUV were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The identities of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation.
