BURLINGTON, ON – A section of Queen Elizabeth Way near Leighland Park in Burlington was closed Wednesday morning following a collision, according to
OPP GTA Traffic.
The accident impacted the onramp from Fairview Street and one lane of the eastbound QEW approaching Highways 407 and 403 at around 9:00 a.m. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the scene shortly after.
Officials have not released a statement about the event, but the closure remained in place for the remainder of the morning and into the late afternoon, suggesting a major crash and a more involved response.
By 4:35 p.m., more than 7.5 hours later, the scene was announced cleared, with all travel lanes reopened to traffic.
