Finally Believed: A Documentary
Finally Believed shares Glenn’s story as a survivor of childhood institutional abuse and the long road he has endured toward being heard. For decades, Glenn carried the weight of what happened to him, including the fear that no one would believe him and the feeling that he had been left to face the consequences alone. This film gives space to the pain of that silence, but also to the relief that comes when someone finally listens.
In the documentary, Glenn describes calling Jeffrey Preszler late at night after seeing one of the firm’s ads. Jeff answered, listened to his story, and told Glenn that Preszler Injury Lawyers could help. For Glenn, that moment mattered. It was the first time in many years that he felt someone believed him, understood what had happened, and knew how to move the case forward.
Finally Believed explores the work that goes into navigating an institutional abuse claim. Jeff explains that these cases often require extensive record collection, expert evidence, financial risk, and persistence against institutions, corporations, and insurers that refuse to take accountability. Glenn describes how the firm found records he could not find on his own and helped prove what he had lived through.
In this documentary about trauma, trust, and accountability, the power of finally being believed becomes clear. For Glenn, the legal case did not erase what happened, but it helped him feel more in control of his life and more certain about the future. Watch Finally Believed below.

Glenn: It felt like finally, right, finally, somebody assist to me and this can actually do something about this and actually thinks that he can do something for me. And they did. His whole office did. So, yeah, it’s like finally, right, so many decades of dealing with that and telling people and not getting the response that you really needed to hear.
And I got that from Jeffrey Presler.
When I was 11 years old, a person of authority, um, promised me a jar of coins for what he was about to do to me. Well, my mom was a single mom in the, in the seventies. I was born in 1965, so, um, it was 1976 when it happened. Um, there was my sister and my mom and myself and, um, I came back from a camping trip a bit earlier than what it happened because that’s where it happened.
And, um, she was very upset that I was back early and. From there on, I, he, he, he always said, don’t tell anybody. They’re not gonna believe you. So I never told my mom. Right. And I guess I started acting out. I don’t know why I started acting out or anything, or how I was, but she said that I was very hard to handle and they called the Children’s AIDS Society and they came in.
And I didn’t tell them what was going on. So maybe because I didn’t share what was going on, because I was told not to, is probably why I may, I was maybe misdiagnosed as being hyperactive or being in depression or something like that. Uh, I’m not sure. That’s just something I’m thinking about right now.
But, um, yeah, it was, uh, it was pretty scary. Oh. I ne even when I was in recovery for drug addiction, I never ever told people about it. And maybe if I had, I may have, I don’t know, maybe it was a, I could have got more help quicker or something. I don’t know. I don’t know.
So I was always feeling that I was damaged product that, that nobody really wants damaged product around, right? Damaged product is just gonna cause problems.
What had happened was Jeffrey Presley’s ad I didn’t know who he was until I seen his commercials and stuff like that. And it was, it was very strange ’cause it was late at night and I dialed his number and he was the one who answered, like, he’s the owner of this company and he was the one who answered, he got me, I opened up to him about everything and uh, he, he said, I can help you.
Right. And I wanna help you.
Jeff: No one believed him and no one stood up for him and he had to fend for himself, which, uh, landed him on the streets doing things that no one would ever wish for. Their loved ones. He is one of the many people that I’ve met that. I’ve been able to, um, succeed in life despite adversity that most people would, uh, probably call it a day.
And he is really an amazing guy. I mean, he has an amazing sense of humor and he’s, um. He’s a great father and he’s just a, just a good guy that should have never had to
Glenn: go through what he did. And then he let me know that the statute of limitations had been removed and that there was no more, uh, time limit and stuff like that, and that’s where he was able to go forward with my case.
I was not financially able to have a lawyer and to be able to call Jeffrey Presler and tell him my story and have him tell me that he could help me and that he wasn’t gonna charge me anything unless he won, was very, very re relieving to hear that. Right. I opened up to my story, he said he could help me and that he wasn’t gonna charge me anything unless he won.
And uh, he won and I got two thirds and they got a third.
Jeff: We can sign up for a case and end up having to put in a thousand hours of work where you’ve never received a penny. When you speak to other lawyers that bill on an hourly rate basis, they think what we do, contingency fee lawyers, that we’re totally off the deep end.
We’re totally nuts. Many of our files that we settle, even though we get unbelievable results for our clients, the sheer amount of work that goes into these cases is significant. Insurance companies and these, these corporations, it’s not like the minute they receive a, a demand or a, a statement of claim.
They don’t just sit down and say, oh, well, Mr. Presler, thank you for this. Let, let’s just get the checkbook out and give you the money. There’s a dirty business about delaying litigation and the, and using the system to benefit institutions and corporations and insurance companies. So there’s all kinds of, um, experts that we also have to retain in order to, um, help quantify, um, your, uh, client’s case.
You know, I can tell you realistically on. Uh, most of these cases we have to spend between 20 to $50,000 of our own money hiring experts
Glenn: to prove your case. That’s, that’s worth it because here’s a professional, he knows all the rules, he knows how to get things and how to get information and stuff like that.
It was definitely worth the one third that they took and, and I’m very, very happy with that.
Jeff: And in addition to that, just the records that you have to obtain to prove one’s case. There’s thousands of dollars.
Glenn: He did things I could not do, right? He, he found records I could not find.
Jeff: You let, let people like myself worry, worry about proving your case. You don’t need to, and that’s, that’s what Glen did. He, he let me do what I do for a living. He entrusted me and I was able to execute. Uh, for him,
Glenn: it’s over. Right? Somebody listened. Somebody was responsible. What I, what I experienced was real.
And, and now, now the court have said it was real, right? So nobody can take that away from me, right? So, yeah. Yeah, that’s, that’s mine to own. Now
Jeff: for most people, that’s what is, uh, most impactful. Is that they’re finally heard
Glenn: and believed and that, and, and, and it helps with your, with your healing, knowing that, yes, this, this can’t be taken away right there by a thought or, or did it really happen to me or anything like that.
You’ve got the proof, I’ve got the litigation papers and stuff like that to be able to look back on and stuff like that, so it was nice to be able to put it to bed. It was. It was very nice.
Jeff: There’s really no amount of money that can make any of this better, so it’s just a crappy substitute, but it helps life. It makes the years you have left on this lovely earth with friends and family a lot better. I can tell you that. A lot easier to live
Glenn: when you have income and money. And we was somebody who stepped up and said, I’m gonna help you.
And, and just like Dr. Strauss and Dr. Ler, right? So, uh, there’s a third person that was fortunate to have him in my life, so thank you, Jeff. Yeah, after it was finished, after the case was finished, I was feeling like I can had control of my life again. It, it’s been much better now. I still have restless nights, but not as many.
I feel more, more like a man. Now, I, I know I’m a man, right? I was just a human, a, a, a, hurt boy all those other years. But now I feel like a man.
You still know that it happened to you, right? So it’s still there. You just don’t think about it as much anymore. When before the lawsuit I was thinking about, why doesn’t people believe me? Why can’t I get this story out? Why? Why is it so hard now that it’s over? I don’t think about those things anymore.
So that’s why it’s easier ’cause I’m not constantly thinking that nobody wants to believe me or nobody wants to help.
Jeff: I don’t wanna say he’s a unique, um, person, but he’s a, he’s an impressive individual and, you know, my hat goes off to to people like him, especially for the journey that he has gone through in his life and how he’s been able to come out the other side in such a positive manner and do so much good stuff.
For others and our world.
Glenn: Oh, I’m, what, how can I explain that? I’m past it now. Like, but, uh, on, on the, on the, uh, what, like the golden road? I don’t, I don’t know. It’s not golden, but I’m just on a better path. I feel better. I sleep better. I’m healthier. Um, I don’t have to deal with so many mental health problems.
Uh, yeah, the healing thing is, is has been really good. It, it’s, yeah, it’s lifted a, a bake weight off my shoulders to know that I am okay. I am. Even though I was abused, I’m still a worthy human being. Right.
